Partners
Washington State Arts Commission & National Endowment for the Arts
he Washington State Arts Commission has awarded the MAC a COVID-19 relief grant via the National Endowment for the Arts and the CARES Act. We are grateful for the support of these agencies.
Snohomish County Historical Preservation Commission
A 2020 grant from the Snohomish County Historical Preservation Commission is allowing us to continue work on the renovation of the Wagner Performing Arts Center lobby and restrooms. We are grateful for the generous support of the County in helping us preserve the Wagner – an important cultural venue and a cherished part of Monroe’s history.
The Tulalip Tribes
In January 2020 the Tulalip Tribes awarded a grant to the MAC for the purchase of an art display system. This professional system will be installed in the Wagner Performing Arts Center main hallway, and will be used to celebrate the work of local artists and art students.
Community Foundation of Snohomish County
The Community Foundation provides the MAC with guidance on issues nonprofits face such as governance questions, strategic planning, and grant seeking. Special thanks to Angelique Leone.
Jesse Fish, Business Gold Level Member
Jesse has been Business Gold Level member of the Monroe Arts Council since 2017. He was instrumental in organizing the Windermere Community Service Day effort benefiting the Wagner Performing Arts Center, and is a valuable link between the MAC and the business community in Monroe.
Hamilton Construction
We are fortunate to have the considerable talents of Cary and Anna Hamilton, contractors from Gold Bar, providing us with their many years of expertise on the renovation of the restrooms and lobby of the Wagner Performing Arts Center. Their knowledge and appreciation of yesteryear’s construction techniques and aesthetics will ensure that the historical integrity of the WPAC is preserved as much as possible during the renovation.
Bill Bylund, Architect
In 2019 the MAC was fortunate to be joined by Bill Bylund, the architect who created the design plans for the lobby renovation of the Wagner Performing Arts Center. After a long career as owner of a successful architecture firm in California, Bill is now donating his time to take on the role of project manager for the WPAC renovation. Thank you, Bill, your presence on the team is making an enormous difference!
Dr. Charles Strub
In late 2019, Dr. Strub surprised the MAC with a generous private donation benefiting the Wagner Performing Arts Center lobby & restroom renovation project. Dr. Strub, a musician, also personally supported the auditorium through benefit concerts in years past when he performed with a Dixieland group at the Wagner. We thank Dr. Strub for his support of the Wagner renovation project.
Windermere Real Estate
In 2019, the Monroe office of Windermere Real Estate selected the Monroe Arts Council as the lucky beneficiary of its Community Service Day. A huge THANK YOU to all the staff at Windermere who spent a day cleaning, painting, and polishing the Wagner Performing Arts Center!
The F Street Project
This outstanding jazz/blues/rock band from Snohomish has presented two incredible benefit concerts for the MAC in recent years. Sadly, the third one planned for 2020 had to be canceled due to the Coronavirus, but watch for another great show in 2021! Read our blog post about the 2018 concert.
A Master’s Touch
Brian Sullivan, owner of A Master’s Touch refinishing and restoration business in Monroe, generously donated time and resources in 2019 to refinish the original interior stairway handrails at the Wagner Performing Arts Center. The handrails were covered in many chipped layers of ancient, ugly paint. Today the fir grain gleams as beautifully as it might have in the 1930’s. Read more and see the photos here . Councilman Sam Low
In 2018, Councilman Sam Low supported the MAC in its efforts to obtain grant funding for the Wagner Performing Arts Center renovation. Thanks to his efforts on our behalf, the MAC has been able to purchase important fixtures and supplies that will be critical to the completion of the project. Thank you Councilman Low!
Monroe Community Partners
The MAC partners in different ways with Monroe businesses, community organizations, and other non-profits toward the goal of promoting the arts in Monroe. Some of these partners help us conduct fund-raising events – and some of them are supported by the MAC through our volunteer hours, advertising support, and funding of scholarships.
